As promised, I’m back this week with some more breakfast recipes from around the internet. Today’s roundup includes a variety of breakfasts made with eggs.
Eggs are a staple in our family’s diet, mostly for breakfast. Each one of us consumes at least one egg every morning. If we are lucky we have local, organic, free range eggs from the chickens in our backyard, which are so much better and healthier than those that we usually buy from the store.
Eggs are among the healthiest and nutritious foods available and are a very good source of protein. They are considered to be a complete source of protein because they contain all nine essential amino acids (Essential Amino acids are the ones we cannot synthesize in our bodies and hence must obtain from our diet). The white and yolk of an egg are both rich in various nutrients – proteins, vitamins and minerals, with the yolk also containing cholesterol, fat soluble vitamins such as A, D, E, K and essential fatty acids.
Ok, enough of the science lecture. 🙂
The bottom line is, eggs are good for you and here are several ways in which you can cook and enjoy them.
