As mom’s of little kids, we are always busy with something or the other and we often struggle to balance our time between work, chores, family and kids!
When my oldest was five, I found myself so busy and overwhelmed with all the housework and all that needed to be done, that I hardly found time to spend with my little boy.
That was when I penned down this poem in order to inspire myself, and other moms like me, to Slow down and make time to enjoy our little ones while they are still little!
I’m sharing it again today, for anyone else that might need to hear it today.
I hope you enjoy it! 🙂
Slow Down Mom
I drew a funny picture,
I wanted you to see.
But you were too busy,
Later, you said to me.
Mom! Won’t you please slow down?!I made a little sail boat,
But it wouldn’t stay afloat.
I ran to you for advice,
But you were busy making the rice.
Mom! Won’t you please slow down?!I had a bad day today,
In your lap, I wanted to lay.
But you were busy cleaning,
And so I said nothing.
Mom! Won’t you please slow down?!Night fell; ’twas time for bed,
a warm hug, I wished for in my head.
But you tucked me in, said goodnight,
And quickly scurried outside.
Mom!!! Please slow down!
Slow down Mom. Please slow down. Before you know it they’ll be all grown up!
